I’ll be honest, the main reason this bird is going on the blog? The beautiful name. The Bare-Faced Go-Away-Bird is a gray turaco with a bushy crest and a mostly white head and breast. They are commonly found in the moist savanna, woodland, shrubby cultivation, and gardens. They are usually in small groups and almost always tend to be loud, energetic, and chatty. The calls are a single hollow “khweow” and a maniacal series of cackles and whines given by multiple birds in chorus. Many say that, while this Corythaixoides bird species is big, it still has a big personality for its size!
